Alone 02:17
I don't want to be alone I don't want to feel alone I spent the last 5 years trying to get myself away from you Now I don't want to be alone I thought things would be different I thought I'd be happy again Now I just want to watch TV I don't want to be I don't need to be I think that if things just changed a little bit you'd be happy But I don't want to be I thought things would be different I thought we'd be okay again Now I just want to watch TV

What am I?
 And what’s the point?
I can sit here in my room writing stupid songs about you Where’d you go?
I’ll see you soon See I told you that once this was done I could start having fun Why does it matter? Why do I care? There’s nothing for me to do in this room but stare at the wall, at my phone. Anything to distract myselps* from the absence of your presence. (In a good way) You’re a gas who fills the volume of every crevice in my life I hope you don’t forget me When you’re old and gray And I’m old and brown (I dyed my hair) And if you change your mind, Just know that you won’t have a real hard time if you decide to change mine If I called you over I’d have no more room For all my stuff For all my friends Nothing that matters (In a good way) You’re a gas who fills the volume of every crevice in my life *It’s supposed to be “myself” but I said “myselps” while singing and it’s kind of cute… right?

You walked up to the jukebox. You played a song called “I Love Rock N Roll”. “How appropriate, that’s what they do in that song!” But it only cost a dime then. It costs a lot more now, and you can actually do it on your phone. What a convenience! What a nice thing to have, to be at a bar and not leave your table and play the soundtrack that you want. “Play the soundtrack that you want!” “I hope you enjoy it.” I’ll be anxiously looking to see if you like Built to Spill, or Halo Benders (which is an offshoot of Built to Spill). Doug Martsch is a genius and if you show signs that you like this I’ll tell you all about the time I saw him play a show in Normal, Illinois in 2013. I was with my friend Casey and we sat in the balcony, because he was too young to be on the floor. “I sorta just told you about it” “yeah it’s fine” “Nobody writes music about how much they like Rock n Roll any more.” “Nobody writes music about how much they like Rock n Roll any more.” “I wonder why that is” “I wonder why that is”

Disappear 01:27
Where I’m going I don’t care I just hope I see you there But I know you’re not there Somehow you disappeared Where I’m going I don’t mind I just hope I’m better off This time I’m alone and I wait by my phone Why do I want to be with you when you’re gone? I thought you were holding me back You gave me a heart attack I saw you in my way Now I want you to stay I don’t know what else to do Everything I know is you And I can’t disappear Because I’m not thin air Why do I want to be with you when you’re gone?

I’m not sure where we are Just turn around the car I checked the map We got lost How’d we get this far? I don’t want to annoy you (not that you care) Open the window I need some air Even if it’s not as simple as that We somehow have to get back To where we were To who we are But I’ll cut you some slack I don’t want to annoy you (not that you care) Close the window it’s cold back here I feel better than I seem This whole thing feels like a dream I think we’ll be okay But we made a good team We’ll be okay on our own, but that doesn’t mean I’m not fighting just to stay alive I’m fighting just to stay alive

about

I put these songs out one year ago about the break up I was going through, and, in a sense, am still going through. When do you stop going through things that have ended that mean a lot to you? I don't know! I'm just a guy.
